How do I add sub domain SSL?
Adding a SSL Certificate to a sub domain is slightly more complicated then you maybe lead to believe. Below we will outline exactly how this is done in the Reseller, and Dedicated Hosting environments using Cpanel.
What do I need?
The information and things you will need are as follows:
Where do I start?
Go ahead and login to you’re WHM (Web Host Manager). Once you are logged in you will be able to create navigate to “Create New Account” under “Account Information”
Enter the following for you’re domain:
Domain Name: subdomain.domain.com (e.g. subdomain.o2link.com)
Setup all the parameters that you would like for the account after that and click “Create”.
What’s next?
Once the account has been created, you will need to assign the new account (subdomain.yourdomain.com) a *dedicated IP (this will update the DNS records).
Once the Dedicated IP has been installed, you will be able to login to you’re Cpanel on the sub domain.
Domain: subdomain.domain.com/cpanel
Username: (you’re username)
Password: (you’re password)
Once logged in, you will need to go to the SSL Manager. Then generate the SSL Cert as well as, the RSA Private Key.
*Dedicated IP – This will have to be changed by O2Link Support (if you are a Reseller)
Final Step:
Once all the above have been completed go ahead and purchase the SSL Certificate (O2Link Provides SSL Certificates) once you have received the SSL cert just go ahead and install it.
You can also have O2Link Support install the SSL certificate also (Free Installation)
Once completed, go visit https://subdomain.domain.com – Congrats! |
