How would I install WordPress plug-ins?

Plug-ins are commonly referred to as modules or components that can be added into WordPress to enhance its functionality. All these plugins are available from the WordPress.org site.

Once a plugin is installed, you simply have to activate it and it will start working for you.

Please note that certain plugins may require you to change your css, templates, or other parts of the WordPress code.

When installing a WordPress plugin you are generally installing into the following directory /wp-content/plugins/ and once installed, you may activate or deactivate any plugin from the “Plugin” section within the WordPress administration area.

To upload your files into a the /wp-content/plugins directory, open your FTP application and get logged in.

Once logged in, you will need to go to the location of your WordPress installation, and then into /wp-content/plugins folder.

Once in there, you simply upload the unzipped version of your plugin into the directory.

Once the above is completed, you just simply need to login into the WP Administration and active the plugin by going to the “Plugins” section.

We HIGHLY suggest that you read the readme.txt that is provided with the plugins for further instructions.

Please make a record of all your updates, as you may want to reverse them later if you do not like the plugin and doing so with notes you already may have it would be simpler.
